About
As members of the Ethiopian/Eritrean diaspora community, we became aware of the lack of culturally relevant educational materials for our young children.
Simple, colorful books that contain visual representations of our culture and written in our language are limited. We saw a need for books that provide strong visual representation of our community while encouraging appreciation of our culture.
In recognizing an opportunity to close this gap, Melkam Media was founded. It is our mission and intent to create culturally inclusive content that speaks to both parents and children alike.
Melkam Media is focused on continuously creating various educational books and other culturally influenced materials, written in our language, that children will enjoy.
Thinking about the Future
It is our hope that we can influence and raise a generation of children that continue to proudly represent our culture while maintaining their native language, the foundation to preserving culture and tradition.
